It’s no wonder that artists have been preserving images of their natural environments for thousands of years. Constantly changing with each season and throughout the years, landscape paintings tell the story of the human experience spent in nature.
As a young artist, I spent countless hours painting the beaches and bays of Long Island’s scenic North Shore. The time spent in nature coupled with the cathartic act of painting became a grounding activity, one that I still practice whenever on vacation in my adulthood.
